Nearbid(sm) is the world's service auction marketplace; Nearbid officially launched on May 5, 2011 in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. Nearbid lets you find a job, post a job, find a service, post a service, or find someone to do work. Nearbid is the merger of e-commerce and social networking.

Alex Brunelle first started in business at age 14, gathering clean jokes for what has now become AhaJokes.com, the most popular clean jokes website on the Internet. At age 19, he graduated from Keystone College with a Bachelor's Degree in accounting. In 2005, at age 21, he founded Dunmore Exclusives LLC, a real estate operating company which manages over 100 rental units in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. From his real estate endeavors, Alex realized a desperate need for an auction market for services, creating and launching Nearbid.com in May 2011 to bring improved quality, pricing efficiency, and new jobs to the national service marketplace.

Ted Brunelle began his business pursuits by creating a full-fledged audio and sound production studio, Endless Mountains Productions, Inc., at age 15. By age 16, he secured several patents on audio and animation technologies. Thereafter, he directed his first full-length feature film, a children's mystery movie, One Stormy Night, worked to create a syndrome surveillance system for the Department of Homeland Security and healthcare institutions at a time when bioterrorism was a serious concern, and, at age 25, launched The Perfect Lawyer .com with his brother, Alex, in 2003, creating a proprietary system for finding lawyers using artificial intelligence. At Nearbid.com, he serves as CTO, tackling head-on the company's technological challenges.

Neil Opet, born in Forty Fort, Pennsylvania, fully self-taught himself C, Java, JavaScript, and PHP by the age of 15, practicing Web security for two years and doing freelance work every year. He enrolled in the Web development curriculum at Luzerne County Community College but took a leave of absence in 2011 to work on Nearbid. He strives to learn a new Web practice each week, enjoys bodybuilding, and maintains an avid interest in mixed martial arts. Neil says his parents have been an inspiration along the way and that his girlfriend Haley is his motivation to work hard and succeed.

Craig Simko, from Falls, Pennsylvania, started programming his senior year of high school, taking an elective class for programming. He was sold on it and took up studies at Penn State's Wilkes-Barre campus; he graduated in May 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in IST. He enjoys bowling, billiards, and an occasional video game and one day dreams of climbing the mountains in South America and visiting Machu Picchu.

Amandeep Chopra was born in the northern reaches of India in Punjab. He completed undergraduate studies in Computers and Mathematics at Panjab University in Chandigarh, India and received his Master's degree from Guru Nanak Dev University in Punjab. In 2008, Aman came to the United States to complete another Master's program in Computer Sciences at Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts. During his undergraduate studies, the freelance work Aman did for U.S. companies piqued his interest in moving to the United States. Today, Aman says he "is always looking toward something new" and constantly pursues mastering new technologies. On the personal side, Aman says he loves cricket and motorcycles and even once thought of creating his own bike gang in India.

Leo Monelli, currently residing in Forty Fort, Pennsylvania, got his first programming experience at the age of 8 thanks to a scripting language and world editor for the MS-DOS game, ZZT. Today his games are made in Python including a recreation of the ZZT engine he grew up with. He enjoys traveling around the country and has visited Chicago, LA, and San Francisco and hopes one day to live on the west coast.

Born and raised in the coal-cracking region of northeast Pennsylvania, Steve majored in English at Bloomsburg University with the original ambition of teaching what he learned at the high school level; soon after, though, he changed his course, minoring in Professional Writing and capitalizing on the chance to serve as the University's Assistant Editor for the A&E Section. Before joining Nearbid, Steve has been published on Examiner.com, Warren, and in the the Bloomsburg University Literary Journal.

Kate Dombroski grew up in Forest City, Pennsylvania, a rural, little town in Northeastern Pennsylvania. She likes to golf, go bowling, ride motorcycles, travel, and enjoy an occasional beer after a hard day at the office. She and her husband Jack are the proud parents of two children. Her son, Aaron, is a Captain in the U.S. Army Infantry with the 10th Mountain Division, and her daughter, Alison, is a Junior at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts majoring in Communications with the ultimate dream of becoming a television producer. All in all, she keeps the rest of us from going crazy by keeping the office efficient, orderly, and well-run.
