SCRANTON - Deemed a "social commerce" Web site by its creators, Scranton residents Alex, 27, and Ted Brunelle, 32, publicly unveiled their new business, Nearbid.com, on Thursday morning.
The auction marketplace, which is currently in beta, will facilitate the creation of jobs in northeastern Pennsylvania, according to Chief Technology Officer Ted Brunelle.

Two brothers with a history of technical innovation introduced a social commerce website Thursday at the Scranton Enterprise Center.
Ted and Alex Brunelle unveiled Nearbid.com, which will link people who need jobs and services with those who provide them. It combines aspects of an auction site with online commentary.
"This is a merger of e-commerce and social networking," said Alex Brunelle, 27.
